Make a Cheer-Themed Clock

Transform a $2 Ikea clock into this colorful cheer-themed version using buttons, ribbon and “Me & My Peeps” decals (designed by my friend Laura Kelly).  Plus, there’s a giveaway at the end of the post!

Cheer-themed clock DIY from Carla Schauer Designs

I started the project with a plain RUSCH clock from Ikea, with a white face, and black numbers and hands.  It was functional, but not very pretty–a perfect surface to add some creativity and color!

I wanted the color to be the focus, so I replaced the standard clock face with textured white cardstock.  Then I added the bright buttons (also Laura Kelly licensed products) around the outside of the face to represent the numbers.

For my cheerleader, I used a “Me & My Peeps” little girl decal attached and cut from red cardstock.  I used detail scissors and hand cut the arms from the girl before attaching the body to the cardstock.

In order to make the cheerleader’s arms into clock hands, I attached them separately to smaller cardstock pieces and glued them to the original clock hands.  Pom-poms made from dotted ribbon were topped with pom-pom decals (attached to pieces of the clear decal packaging) and glued to the ends.

Thanks for stopping by day 3 of the Me & My Peeps blog hop!  Check out the rest of the designers’ projects at Me & My Peeps Blog Hop Page, and be sure to enter the giveaway below!

Until next time…
Carla
